“SAYAP KASIH ORPHANAGE”

The Multiple Disabilities Orphanage of “Sayap Kasih” was established on 2003 in Minahasa Regency.

In its development, considering that the treatment of multiple disabilities clients requires adequate infrastructure and facilities, then on the 20 July 2017 The Multiple Disabilities Orphanage of “Sayap Kasih” was moved to Woloan III Urban Village, Tomohon City.

VISION

To be the best and most trusted social institution in providing services in the spirit of God’s love for those who are small, weak, poor, marginalized and disabled to create a prosperous human being, always happy and dignified.

MISSION

  1. Provide services to children regardless of ethnicity, religion, race and class.
  2. Develop and implement humane and professional service standards.
  3. Manage each work transparently, orderly, honestly and responsibly with a spirit of solidarity.
  4. Increasing integrated service facilities with a beautiful environment.
  5. Expanding the network of partners (Church Institutions, LSM, Government and other institutions).
  6. Increasing sustainable human resource competency.
  7. Developing an entrepreneurial spirit at the institution to support the independence of the service unit.
  8. Mobilize and involve the community to care and share.

 

PURPOSES AND OBJECTIVES OF SERVICE:

  1. Trying to help alleviate the psychological and socio-economic burden on community members who have family members with multiple disabilities.
  2. Trying to provide services by training / helping reactivate the remnants of capabilities that exist in the client maximumly.
  3. Participate in supporting and succeeding Government Programs in the development of Social Welfare, through Services / Sponsorship of People with Multiple Disabilities.

TARGETS OF SERVICE:

Children both boys and girls who suffer from MENTAL DISABILITY and PHYSICAL DISABLED (severe).

SERVICE ACTIVITIES IN ORPHANAGE

  1. Selection / Placement: This activity is carried out to conduct selection both administrative and family conditions of prospective clients.
  2. Care and Treatment: Care includes supervision, feeding, medical check up and medication. Treatment includes physical care, physiotherapy, mental development / affection.
  3. Case Conference: Case study is mainly to find out / study the causes and psychological social angles and possible rehabilitation.
  4. Advanced Coaching: Advanced coaching is aimed for clients who have returned back to their families so that clients still get attention and affection as well as physical care properly and correctly. (PLANNING)

 

ROUTINE PROGRAM SAYAP KASIH ORPHANAGE

  1. Children recreation, 1 year 2 times.
  2. Weekly shopping, 1 week 1 time.
  3. Christmas shopping, 1 year 1 time.
  4. Homevisit every month.
  5. Gymnastics 1 week once.
  6. Recollect employees 1 year 2 times.
  7. Children’s physiotherapy services every day.
  8. Children health Costs every month, 3 million per child.

WORK PROGRAM

  1. The Improvement of service and cooperation with clients’ parents.
  2. Nurses exchanging with same specialized orphanages in order to improve service quality.
  3. The referral system with same specialized orphanages in order to provide continued services to clients who are able to be educated/trained.
  4. Providing additional education for nurses or assistants, consisting of study assignments, courses and others.
  5. Establishing harmonious cooperation with related institutions in order to improve services and expand services coverage.
  6. Conducting home visits to families who have multiple disabilities members in order to provide good and correct guidance.(No. 2,3,4 and 6 are  still in the plan)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  1. 1-12 years old both sons and daughters.
  2. Bearing Mental (severe) and Body Disabilities.
  3. Prospective clients have a full/clear address.
  4. Poor families
  5. Photocopy of Family Card
  6. Photocopy of birth certificate
  7. Photocopy of parents’ ID card
  8. Bring a KIS Card (For those who have)

ABBREVIATIONS AND THEIR MEANINGS (Name of disability)

  1. CP (Cerebral Palsy) : irregularities/disruption of body posture caused by brain damage.
  2. TPS (Tetra Parase Spatic) : paralysis of the 4 body limbs.
  3. Spastic : stiff and unmoving.
  4. Hemiplegia : weakness in the upper limbs (arms) and lower (legs) on one side.
  5. Diplegia : weakness in both legs.
  6. Monoplegi : weakness in one limb.
  7. Qudriplegia : CP form where both arms and legs are involved.
  8. Speech Impaired (Tuna Wicara/TW) : aren’t able to speak.
  9. Blindness (Tuna Netra/TN) : aren’t able to see.
  10. CL : cacat lahir (birth defects).
  11. Hiperactive : uncontrolled motion.
  12. Hidrocephalus : big head (fluids on the head).
  13. MR/RM/Retmen (Mental Retardation) : people whose IQs are below a certain number usually cannot adapt to the environment without control/help from outside.

Notes : Unit Director of PACG “Sayap Kasih” named Br. Yohanes De Araujo T. Soares, BTD, S.Si, L.biotech (BR.Bonaventura,BTD). The number of clients at PACG Sayap Kasih at the end of June 2018 were 26 children consist of 13 male clients and 13 female clients. While the total number of employees are 35 people.
